South Star Recreation Trails
The South Star Recreation Trails are a multi-use, multi-season, non-motorized trail system located at the southeast of Cranbrook. South Star Trails are primarily used for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing during winter.
Summer offers great opportunities for biking, hiking, walking, and horseback riding while winter is great for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The trails are nordic track set for classic cross-country skiing and the centre of the main trail is set for skate-skiing.
Access; Drive Victoria Ave. S. and as it leaves the city it becomes Gold Creek Road. Stay on the main road south (past the Gold Creek Market) for 1.3 km. Turn right (south) onto 38 Ave. and drive for 3 more kms. Drive past the yellow forestry gate and see a large parking area and a trail map.
