Prisoner of Tehran is the engaging TRUE story of teenage Marina Nemat. In a unique collaboration between Marina and MOTUS O, this synthesis of a dance, theatre and lecture deals with social justice on the theme of Oppression and Freedom. It is a multi-disciplinary performance based on Marina’s best-selling book “Prisoner of Tehran”. The dance is by turns athletic and nuanced as the four artists wind around Nemat’s words and her physical body. The narration, the movement, and the spaces between the two create a powerfully emotional experience for the audience. This performance is simply spectacular.
