Kootenay Bike Swap

Kootenay Bike Swap is a single-day event hosted by JCI Kootenay, where you can come and consign a bicycle or purchase one.  All proceeds go to JCI Kootenay, a local non-profit organization. JCI strives to provide people a safe and hassle-free way to sell their bike, rather than have people come to their home. The cost to consign your bike is a $15 sellers fee and 15% commission.  The event takes aim at selling quality, name brand bikes and not bikes from big box stores.

Who's JCI

JCI Kootenay is a group of young people, aged 18 to 40, who live and work in the East Kootenay. Their members believe in the importance of creating positive change within our communities and the world.  JCI Kootenay is affiliated with Junior Chamber International (JCI), a membership-based nonprofit organization of roughly 200,000 young people aged 18 to 40 in 5,000 communities and more than 100 countries around the world. Selling a bike

Bring your bicycle in clean, safe, ready to ride condition during the morning drop off

They will have bicycle technicians there to ensure that bikes are in a safe, operable state.  They will not be able to perform repair.

If you do not have a price in mind they will assist you in determining an ideal sale price.

You will pay them a $15 rack fee per bike to put them into the sale.

From there, their experienced staff will handle the selling of the bike

Your bike has sold, now what? In the following two weeks we will send you a cheque or e-transfer the money, less 15%.  

What if your bike doesn't sell? Don't worry, but if it doesn't bike pickup is at 4:00

Buying a bike

We will have staff available to help size and assist you with finding a great ride.

All bikes will be inspected for basic safety and function.

All major forms of payment will be accepted.

Ride off into the sunset!
