College of the Rockies Avalanche:
Starting in 1997, the COTR Avalanche volleyball team has become a formidable presence in collegiate sports. Calling the College of the Rockies home, they compete primarily on weekends throughout the volleyball season running October through March. Demonstrating exceptional skill and determination, the Men’s Avalanche secured a spot in the 2025 PACWEST Championship final, earning them a place at the CCAA National Championships where they then won silver. Fans are drawn to their matches not only for the high-caliber athleticism but also for the team's unwavering spirit and incredibly fun atmosphere that fills the gymnasium during each game.
Cranbrook Bandits:
Swinging for the Fences Cranbrook’s American Legion Baseball team, the Cranbrook Bandits, brings summer excitement to Confederation Park. From April to July, the Bandits showcase the best of local baseball talent. The Bandits have a reputation for developing skilled players, producing multiple athletes who have gone on to play college and university athletes over the years. Cranbrook Black Wolves:
Masters of Lacrosse The Cranbrook Black Wolves represent Cranbrook in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League, bringing intensity and precision to the floor. Playing in the spring and summer, their matches highlight Canada’s national summer sport with thrilling action that keeps fans on the edge of their seats. Games are held at the local arena and are affordable, making them accessible to all. Lacrosse is fast, fierce, and fun, and the Black Wolves embody everything exciting about the sport. We’d also be remiss if we didn’t mention that Cranbrook is the place Russ Sheppard calls home. The full-time lawyer was once a teacher who introduced the sport of lacrosse to the students of Kugluktuk, Nunavut. His experience with the students of inspired the lacrosse focused feature film “The Grizzlies”, which had its world premiere at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival.

The Bucks often hold theme night games to support community, including Pink the Rink, with efforts against bullying, and the Teddy Bear Toss, supporting kids in need of winter gear and caring fluffy friends during challenging times.
