GoByBike SCHOOL CHALLENGE
Schools with the greatest ratio of participants will be declared the 2020 Champions. Kootenay Orchards School is the defending Champion from 2019.
GoByBike CORPORATE CHALLENGE – Prizes to be won in a competition between local businesses
#GoByBikeCranbrook “SEARCH FOR THE SIGNS PURSUIT” – Cyclists are challenged to find the specially designated signs throughout our community during GoByBikeCranbrook Week. Once they locate the sign, they take their photo together with their bike & the sign and post on Facebook or Instagram with hashtags #GoByBikeBC #GoByBikeCranbrook. Each post is an entry for great prizes from local businesses.
To be eligible, all Cranbrook GoByBike cyclists must register their rides

What is GoByBikeBC?
Each year, GoByBike BC’s Spring & Fall Bike to Work & School Week encourages British Columbian’s to choose
their bicycles for transportation rather than a motor vehicle: Converting sedentary time behind the steering
wheel, into time pedaling their bicycle wheels; enjoying healthy, environmentally friendly, active transportation.
During the last spring event (2019), 56,074 riders cycled 2.97 million kilometers (rather than drove those
kilometers via motor vehicle) and saved 644,005 kilograms of greenhouse gases from entering our atmosphere.
A total of 89.1 million calories were burned during this event!
With a heavy heart, GoByBikeBC Society decided to postpone the 2020 Spring event due to Covid-19. We are
more than excited to announce that the fall GoByBike event will take place September 28 - October 4, 2020,
following the Health Minister’s guidelines for social distancing. Any time you use your bike for transportation
instead of a motorized vehicle between September 28 - October 4, 2020, you can log those trips
