Cranbrook Gravel Grind

Nestled between the Rocky Mountains and Ponderosa pines, the Cranbrook Gravel Grind (CGG) returns for its 4th edition, featuring its legendary 8th Wonder of the World courses.
The CGG showcases the world-class gravel riding surrounding Cranbrook, BC, welcoming any and all riders to an unforgettable experience on some of the region’s most scenic backroads. Riders can choose between 56 km and 102 km routes, highlighting the Cranbrook Community Forest, Chief Isadore Trail Network, the Trans Canada Trail, and Mount Baker Forestry Service Roads.
Designed with accessibility in mind, the Cranbrook Gravel Grind offers an incredibly unique experience for both new and seasoned riders. The course accommodates cyclists of all abilities, including hand-cyclists and tandems, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to take part in this iconic gravel event.
The Course
Gold Rush Loop
56 km | ~900 m elevation
A favorite among local riders and visiting gravel enthusiasts alike, the Gold Rush Loop is a true Cranbrook classic. Starting and finishing at Idlewild Park, this route delivers some of the most distinctive and beautiful gravel riding in the province—an unforgettable mix of forest trails, flowing gravel, and stunning natural scenery
Big Foot Loop
102 km | ~1,300 m elevation
Just like the legend itself, the Big Foot Loop is nothing short of mythical. This epic route takes riders deep into the hidden gems of the Cranbrook Community Forest, Chief Isadore, and the Trans Canada Trail before opening up to rolling farmland and jaw-dropping views of the Steeples Mountain Range and Lake Koocanusa. You’ll return to Idlewild Park with tired legs, a full heart, and a story you won’t stop telling.
