Known as the warmest lake in the Kootenays, this lake is considered one of the best recreational lakes. Wasa Lake Provincial Park boasts two beautiful sandy beaches with picnic facilities, playing areas for the kids, and a reservable Provincial Park Campground - (no hookups though).
The park also has a couple of hiking trails. One is the Wasa Lions Way, 7 km loop around paved trails and quiet town streets. The other is the Forest of the Rain Shadow that climbs up a short trail east of the campground amphitheatre and offers a view of the Kootenay Valley and Wasa Lake. The campground and the hiking trails are described on the park's website. Wasa Lake Provincial Park.
Around the town of Wasa Lake there are places to enjoy a meal or a refreshing beverage. Cranbrook is about 25-minute drive away.
