Wasa Lake
Known as the warmest lake in the Kootenays, this lake is considered one of the best recreational lakes.
Wasa Lake Provincial Park boasts two beautiful sandy beaches with picnic facilities, playing areas for the kids as well as a large campground.
The park also has an 8 km wheelchair and bike accessible trail, plus a 2.7 km self-guided interpretation trail:
- The Wasa Lions Way, 8 km loop around paved trails and quiet town streets. This multi-use trail is great for everything from road bikes & roller blades, to running & walking.
- The Forest of the Rain Shadow, that climbs up a short trail east of the campground amphitheatre and offers a view of the Kootenay Valley and Wasa Lake.
Around the town of Wasa Lake there are places to enjoy a meal or a refreshing beverage. Cranbrook is about 25-minute drive away.
