Kamu Sauna
Kamu Sauna offers mobile sauna rentals and experiences in the East Kootenays. Their mobile sauna is built in a trailer that can move around with a pick-up truck to their customers' homes, cabins or backcountry locations. They also run guided sauna experience sessions at different pop-up locations around the region.
The Mobile Sauna
The Mobile Sauna is directly informed and inspired by owner Juho Pelkonen's experience growing up in Finland. Housed in a durable trailer, the interior is constructed with local wood species and feature walls milled from Douglas Fir right from their Forest Farm where they live within ʔamak̓is Ktunaxa.
The 14 ft. trailer houses a 6x8 sauna room with generous changing + rest area. It comfortably seats 6+ people at a time and is heated with a Harvia wood sauna stove. It is a proper traditional Finnish sauna with rocks where you can pour water on to create steam, known as löyly. Temperatures can reach 70-90C, depending on your tolerance.
