Elizabeth Lake Bird Sanctuary
This 5.9 hectare wildlife sanctuary, Elizabeth Lake is a large wetland area on the west edge of Cranbrook. This sanctuary is home to many different animal species, from western painted turtles and squirrels to permanent and migratory birds. There are walking trails and viewpoints around the lake, as well as picnic tables and benches. If you visit Elizabeth Lake in the summer, you can stop at the visitor centre and talk to our volunteers – they have great information on the local area.
