CBC broadcaster and acclaimed storyteller Tom Allen invites audiences on a musical and emotional journey through J.S. Bach’s Long Walk in the Snow — a stunning multimedia performance that blends story, music, and historical imagination.
Follow the young Johann Sebastian Bach as he embarks on a daring 400 km trek across Germany in the winter of 1705 — a pilgrimage that transforms him from a gifted youth into a master composer. Through beautiful narration and exquisite chamber music, Allen and his ensemble bring to life this coming-of-age adventure filled with determination, creativity, and self-discovery.
Featuring performances by Tom Allen, harpist Lori Gemmell, and some of BC’s finest chamber musicians, this performance is both intellectually rich and emotionally resonant — “a singular pleasure from beginning to end.”
