Holiday HIKARIE Card Making

Discover the art of light and paper in Holiday HIKARIE Card Making, a three-hour workshop led by artist Rico. Taking place on Friday, December 5, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Cranbrook Arts Gallery, this workshop introduces the unique HIKARIE technique—a blend of the Japanese words “HIKARI” (light) and “E” (picture). Participants will create intricate designs that are revealed only when illuminated, resulting in a captivating light-revealed card perfect for the holidays or any special occasion. By the end of the session, you’ll have crafted your own glowing creation, which can also be digitized for online sharing or prints. Tickets are $55, and all materials are included.
