Annual Art Exhibition for Local First Nations, Metis and Inuit Artists

Key City Theatre Presents the 3rd Annual First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Art Exhibit.
The exhibit is now open to the public until October 25th at the Key City Theatre Gallery. To celebrate this significant event, an artist reception will be held on October 1 at 6:30 p.m. This reception offers a unique opportunity to meet the artists, hear their stories, and gain insight into the inspirations behind their powerful works.
Following the artist reception, Key City Theatre is thrilled to present a special screening of the musical film Les Filles Du Roi by Urban Ink. This ground-breaking film comes from the same talented team that brought us Children of God.
Les Filles du Roi (The King’s Daughters) is the powerful story of a young girl, Kateri and her brother Jean-Baptiste whose lives are disrupted upon the arrival of les filles du roi in ‘New France’ (now Montreal) in 1665. They forge an unlikely relationship with the young fille Marie-Jeanne Lespérance – whose dream of a new life is more complicated than she could have imagined. Over the course of a year, Mohawk, French and English journeys collide, setting the stage for the Canada we know today.
The Key City Theatre Gallery is committed to creating an inclusive space where all voices are heard and celebrated. This exhibit is a testament to the rich cultural heritage and artistic diversity of our local First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities.
The gallery is open noon-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
