XC Skiing & Snowshoeing

Cross Country Skiing and snowshoeing are great ways to stay active this winter and see the forest in a snowy setting. From Novice to Advance, the Cranbrook area offers a little bit of something for everyone! 

Cross Country Skiing

• South Star Trails
  The trails here are nordic track set for classic cross-country skiing and the center of the main trail is set for skate-skiing. Daily or season passes are required to use maintained trails in winter. See their website for donation & membership information.

• The Kimberley Nordic Club 
  Trails here are of varying degrees of difficulty and length to accommodate all levels of Nordic skiers! The modern facility includes a comfortable lodge with washrooms, a racer's warming/waxing hut.
  *BONUS* Specialty trails have been specifically constructed to be Paralympic skiing friendly.

Snowshoeing

• Cranbrook Community Forest
  This trail network is multi-use between fat bikers, snowshoe-rs, and hikers. Single track grooming takes place for fresh laps on beautiful corduroy.

• The Wycliffe Butte
  A rewarding snowshoe around and up the circumference of this local favorite trail. The top of the Butte gives great views of the steeples as well as the Kimberley Alpine Resort.
  
  
• The Bee Line
  Created by a passionate trail builder, this trail is a steep loop near HWY 95. The rewarding panoramic view is one not to miss!
