Cranbrook, B.C., Canada – Cranbrook Tourism Achieves Rainbow Registered Designation, Affirming Its Commitment to Diversity and Inclusivity
January 22, 2025
Cranbrook Tourism proudly announces that it has become Rainbow Registered through the Canadian Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC), showcasing its dedication to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all visitors, including the LGBTQ+ community.
This achievement is a reflection of Cranbrook Tourism’s mission to celebrate diversity, equality, and inclusivity. The Rainbow Registered designation demonstrates that Cranbrook is a destination where everyone can feel valued and respected, while enjoying the beauty and charm of this vibrant mountain community.
Joining a National Movement of Inclusivity
By becoming Rainbow Registered, Cranbrook Tourism joins a network of businesses and organizations across Canada committed to fostering inclusive environments that celebrate individuality and promote diversity. The rigorous certification process ensures that Rainbow Registered organizations actively implement policies and practices that create open and affirming spaces free from discrimination.
Extending the Commitment Locally
Cranbrook Tourism is also committed to supporting local businesses in embracing inclusivity. The organization plans to provide resources, training, and subsidies to help local businesses achieve their own Rainbow Registered designations through the CGLCC. This initiative aims to amplify the impact, fostering a community-wide culture of diversity and respect.
“Our Rainbow Registered status is more than a badge—it’s a promise to champion inclusivity in every aspect of our operations,” said Kristy Jahn, Executive Director. “We are proud to join a national movement that values diversity and supports a safe environment for everyone.”
Cranbrook Tourism invites all local businesses and community members to join this movement, helping to build a destination where everyone feels valued and celebrated.
