Kootenay Fun 5 2026

The Kootenay Fun 5 is Cranbrook’s favourite way to welcome spring, an annual community 5 km fun run that brings together families, friends, and neighbours for a morning full of movement and fun. This event supports Kootenay Christian Academy, with every registration helping provide enhanced educational tools and experiences for students.

Participants can choose the original 5K walk/run on a mostly flat and fast course that’s perfect for runners, joggers, and walkers of all ages. After the race, enjoy post-run festivities including a BBQ, awards, and more. For those looking for a bigger challenge, register for the “Last One Standing” Backyard Ultra, where runners attempt a 6.4 km loop every hour on the hour until only one athlete remains.

The first 500 registrants receive a Kootenay Fun 5 t-shirt and swag bag, and all participants receive a race bib with a timing chip.
