Ed Talk | Lest We Forget – Cranbrook at War: Home and Away

November 24, 2021 57 Van Horne Street South Cranbrook, BC V1C 1Y7

Join the Cranbrook History Centre in our Royal Alexandra Hall next Wednesday November 24th to welcome our seasoned guest, Jim Cameron. From 7 – 8:00 pm MT, Jim will introduce us to how war impacted our small rocky mountain town. From the Boer War to the two World Wars, we'll see what life was like for Cranbrookians, home and away.

Cranbrook’s military history is as old and diverse as the city itself. From Major General Sir Samuel Benfield Steele to town founder Colonel James Baker, from the steps of city hall to the to Chinatown and from Baker Hill to Baker Street, the city of Cranbrook has cheered for the many that left to serve their country across the globe and mourned for the many who failed to return. Join Jim Cameron and the Cranbrook History Centre for an entertaining, informative and touching look at the life and times of those who, in ways both large and small, served to shape the legacy of our town.
