Ed Talk – A 100 years of history with the Cranbrook Library
| Wednesday, February 25, 2026 | 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm | Cranbrook History Centre |
Join the Cranbrook History Centre for an Ed Talk exploring 100 years of history with the Cranbrook Library. In 1912, a visitor famously remarked that “something is wrong with the people” because Cranbrook had no public library—a complaint echoed for years as the community pushed for a place of books and learning.
Guest speaker Mike Selby will share the story of Cranbrook’s long struggle to establish a public library and how the community kept it running for a full century. This talk highlights how the history of the Cranbrook Public Library is deeply connected to the history of Cranbrook itself.
