East Kootenay Heritage Fair

The East Kootenay Heritage Fair is an exciting opportunity for students in Grades 4–10 (SD5) to explore Canadian history through fun, creative, student-led projects. Often described as “a science fair, but for history,” the Heritage Fair encourages students to choose a topic they’re curious about, many focused on family stories, local history, or meaningful moments in Canada’s past and present what they’ve learned in unique formats like poster displays, videos, plays, comics, and more.

This regional fair helps students build confidence, strengthen research and communication skills, and get hands-on with inquiry-based learning in a supportive, community-focused environment.

*Important note for teachers:
Teachers must register their class by January 30, 2026.
