COTR Museia

The Faculty in Arts and Sciences at College of the Rockies invites you to the next public lecture in the COTR Museia series taking place Saturday, September 21 in partnership with the Cranbrook Public Library‘s Science Saturday event.

This lecture is free to attend but COTR does ask that you pre-register online to help manage numbers.

Dr. Ben Tippett, Physics and Astronomy instructor at College of the Rockies, will explore why the sky being blue in the afternoon results in a red sky and pink mountains in the evening.  The reason Iron Man and The Hulk can pop off of the screen into 3-D is because your glasses let your left eye see a different picture from your right eye. People who love sportfishing will spend extra money to get sunglasses that let them see below the water, even on a sunny day.

This Autumn Museia, we will be talking about the simple property of light that makes the sky blue.
