PiqSiq

Thursday, March 5, 2026 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm Key City Theatre

Immerse yourself in the haunting northern beauty of PIQSIQ, the Inuit throat singing duo of sisters Tiffany Ayalik and Inuksuk Mackay.

With deep roots in Nunavut’s Kitikmeot and Kivalliq Regions and raised in Yellowknife, the sisters create atmospheric soundscapes inspired by the extremes of Arctic light and darkness.

Performing both ancient traditional songs and improvisational new compositions, PIQSIQ invites audiences into a transformative, otherworldly experience where music transcends language.

Their name, meaning a storm where snow appears to fall back into the sky, reflects their ability to bend perception through sound.

Blending katajjaq with modern looping technology, PIQSIQ’s performances are never the same twice—each show shaped by environment, audience, and emotion.

With five acclaimed albums and international tours, PIQSIQ continues to use music as a powerful act of cultural revitalization and decolonization.
