September 11, 2019 | Cranbrook Tourism

Cranbrook is home to a variety of activities no matter what the weather.

We've put together an inspiring list of activities to keep you busy this fall!

  1. Spooktacular at Fort Steele
Dress to impress at the 33rd annual Halloween event hosted by Fort Steele. This event is frightfully fun for all ages and includes everything from pumpkin carving, haunted houses, trick or treating and more!

  2. Attend a Trivia Night
The Fire Hall Kitchen & Tap injects a little fun into a Tuesday by hosting a weekly trivia night. The topics? They change each week, check out their Facebook for the details!

  3. Catch a Show at Key City Theatre
Drizzly weather? Take to the theatre to let yourself be transformed and entertained by the fall line-up of performances and entertainment from all over the world. Blues and  Folk music, to acrobats and live theatre... There's surely something for everyone.

  4. Dine on Local Fare
Our Farmer's Market continues throughout each season to present a different array of products from year-round ranchers, bakers & farmers. Many restaurants are also conscious of these local producers and offer changing features to compliment the local fare.
A few of these restaurants include: The Heid Out, and Allegra.

  5. Explore The Community Forest
With over 100km of protected forest, this park is abundant with changing leaves, beautiful cascading light and multi-use trails for all ages & abilities. Start from The College of The Rockies trailhead and wind your way up to one of the alkaline lakes.

  6. Climb the Walls!
No, really! Arq Mountain Centre is Cranbrook's own state of the art climbing facility equipt with rope routes for all abilities, a bouldering wall, kids climbing area, and even a coffee bar! What are you waiting for?

  7. Mini-Golf at Elizabeth Lake Lodge
This sun-soaked mini-golf course evokes the competitor in many of us... An 18 hole challenge that features a water wheel, fishing hole, and even a steam engine. This family-fun course just keeps on giving!

  8. Hike among the Larch Trees
Much of the wilderness surrounding Cranbrook is home to the beautiful Larch (or Tamarack) trees. These needled beauties are unique to others, as they change to a brilliant yellow colour before losing their needles nearing winter. Our favorite trail to see the Larch trees is Mause Creek to Tanglefoot Lake. Trust us, you don't want to miss this!

  9. Travel in Time
Visit the rich history of the East Kootenay region at the Cranbrook History Centre. Explore traditional rail travel, the impressive Royal Alexandra Hall, model trains and more. Guided tours are available daily!

  10. Knock Them Pins Down
Practice your precision with a game that's lasted the tests of time. Juniper Lanes is Cranbrook's bowling alley, featuring 18 lanes of 5 pin bowling, and weekend laser bowling!
