Rock the Kootenays is happening August 9-11 at Western Financial Place. We know many of you might have questions - so here are the need to knows of this year’s festival.

What Should I Bring?

Make sure you’re packing the correct clothing because this event is happening RAIN or SHINE. Those weather specific accessories such as empty refillable water bottles, hats, sunscreen, and umbrellas (not beach umbrellas) are all allowed inside the gates.

SEATING! There is no seating provided at the festival so bring your own lawn chairs or blankets.

Is there anything I can’t bring that I should know about?

There is no outside food and beverages so don’t show up with a packed cooler! There will be food vendors on site selling a wide variety of different foods from burgers to vegan options. Encore Brewing Co. will also be hosting the beer gardens so remember those two pieces of ID.

They are not allowing any signs, flags, and laser pointers. Take as many pictures and videos as you want but leave your professional recording devices and detachable lens cameras and tripods at home.

To keep everyone safe, Rock the Kootenays also does not allow weapons, illegal drugs, or fireworks.

Since this is a child-friendly event, any items or clothing that are discriminative, refer to drug paraphernalia, or are appropriative are prohibited. Speaking of clothes, you can’t wear any type of chain accessories or chain wallets.

For those folks who are bringing children, you cannot bring wagons. The only animals allowed in the festival are registered service animals.
